Muzaffarpur: Indian Air Force helicopter delivering flood relief in Bihar made an emergency landing on Wednesday. All four personnel on board, including two officers, were rescued.

The helicopter, which took off from Darbhanga, and made emergency in shallow floodwaters in Naya Gaon, Muzaffarpur.

Disaster management official Pratyaya Amrit credited the pilot’s quick thinking for avoiding a major accident after the engine failed, ensuring the helicopter landed in a safe area.

Rescue efforts began immediately, with locals assisting before the State Disaster Response Force arrived. The helicopter involved was an ALH-Dhruv, recently grounded over technical concerns.

Earlier this week, a separate helicopter crash in Pune killed two pilots and an engineer.
