New Delhi: The NIA announced a Rs 10 lakh reward for information leading to the arrest of Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, officials said Friday.

Anmol Bishnoi, wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for alleged involvement in a shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence in April, has been added to the agency’s most-wanted list, they said.

The reward for Anmol, also known as Bhanu, was issued last month. He is believed to reside in Canada and frequently travel to the U.S., according to officials.

Anmol is also accused of involvement in the October 12 murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique in Mumbai’s Bandra area, officials added.

A Mumbai court recently denied bail to one of two suspects in the shooting outside Khan’s residence, stating they acted with the “intent or knowledge” to harm Khan under Anmol Bishnoi’s orders.

Both Anmol and Lawrence Bishnoi, originally from Fazilka, Punjab, are wanted in this case. Lawrence is currently in custody at Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat.

In April, a lookout notice was issued against Anmol, who reportedly took responsibility for the shooting outside Khan’s residence.

In August 2022, the NIA filed an FIR against nine accused, including the Bishnoi brothers, for allegedly conspiring to “raise funds, recruit youth for terrorist acts in Delhi and other parts of the country,” and for “targeted killings of prominent individuals.”
