Jammu: Jitendra Singh, GoI minister, stated on Thursday that the majority community in Kashmir will one day regret what he termed “exodus” of Kashmiri Pandits. He said that Kashmir feels incomplete without them. Singh highlighted positive changes in Jammu and Kashmir since the revocation of Article 370, suggesting that many, including Kashmiri Muslims, quietly support the move.

“Kashmir’s identity is tied to its composite culture, which was sustained by the presence of Kashmiri Pandits,” Singh said during an event, where he inaugurated the Mata Saraswati Auditorium at Gandhi Memorial College. He believes the majority community may soon regret the “exodus”, noting that the traditional values of a composite upbringing are now diminishing across generations.

Singh emphasised the importance of restoring Kashmir’s unique cultural heritage, pointing to the harmony between communities that defined the region before the 1990s. He reiterated improvements in JK following Article 370’s repeal, saying that support for the change exists even within the Muslim community.
