Srinagar: An earthquake originating in Afghanistan sent tremors across Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday morning. However, it caused no casualties or property damage.

According to officials, the earthquake, measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale, struck at 10:43 am in the Afghanistan region. Although the epicenter was nearly 800 kilometers away, its impact was felt across the Kashmir valley.

Despite the initial fear, officials later confirmed that no damage or injuries were reported in the affected areas. Tremors of this nature occasionally reach the region due to its proximity to active fault lines, but authorities assured the public that Wednesday’s quake posed no further threat.
