Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said that a top LeT commander has been killed in Dachigam where a military operation against militants was underway. The police, in an official statement, said that the militant was involved in killings of civilians in Gagangir, area of Ganderbal district in central Kashmir.
Taking to micro-blogging platform X, The Kashmir Police Zone wrote, “In the ongoing operation, one terrorist is killed and has been identified as Junaid Ahmed Bhat ( LeT, Category A). The said terrorist was involved in civilians killing at Gagangir, Ganderbal and several other terror attacks.”
Earlier, the police also wrote, “Based on specific intelligence input, joint parties of SFs launched CASO in the upper reaches of Dachigam forest,” adding that the contact with militants was established and details will be shared later.
