Pulwama: Woman dies after being ‘pushed’ by son-in-law; FIR lodged

Pulwama: A woman died on Monday evening after being pushed by son-in-law as she tried to pacify an argument between her daughter and him in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

In a statement, the police said that the victim Khurshi Begum, wife of Abdul Rehman Dar, a resident of Looswani was brought dead to district hospital Pulwama on Monday evening.

The spokesman further stated that reportedly, deceased was present in the house of her married daughter when some argument broke out between her daughter and son-in-law. Khurshi tried to pacify both her daughter and son-in-law, in meantime her son-in-law allegedly pushed her resulting her collapse, he said.

Meanwhile, Rafeeqa Banu daughter of the deceased has lodged a complaint against her husband Mohammad Aslam Mir, a resident of Gudoora on which an FIR 257/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at police station Pulwama and investigation have been taken up, reads the statement.
