Jallikattu events leave 7 dead, nearly 300 injured across Tamil Nadu

Seven people, including spectators and a bull owner, lost their lives in various jallikattu and manjuvirattu events across Tamil Nadu on Kaanum Pongal day.

Two bulls also died in separate incidents, as reported by Indian Express.

In Sivaganga district, a bull owner, Thaneesh Raja, and his bull drowned after the animal fell into a farm well. Raja had jumped in to rescue the bull during a manjuvirattu event. In another incident, a spectator, Subbaiah, was fatally gored by a bull while en route to the hospital.

Additional casualties were reported across multiple districts, including Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Karur, and Pudukkottai. Over 130 people were injured in these events, with victims including spectators, bull owners, and tamers.
