Jammu: The police have arrested three overground workers (OGWs) with multiple criminal cases registered against them at Billawar police station. They have been booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA), police said in a statement.
A police spokesperson said that on January 31, teams from Billawar police station and Ramkot police post arrested three persons identified as Mohd Rafiq, son of Kalu Khan, from Ghar Malti; Ravinder Kumar (Shanu), son of Sudesh Kumar, from Dadwara; and Amrik Chand (Amrku), son of Kalu Ram, from Dharamkot, Billawar, Kathua district. “These persons have been involved in various illegal activities for the past few years, with multiple cases registered against them,” the statement said.
The arrest came after police prepared a dossier and sent it to the District Magistrate of Kathua, requesting their detention under the Public Safety Act, 1978. The magistrate approved the request and issued detention warrants.
