Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has begun chairing the high-level meeting with top armed forces officers on Wednesday in Srinagar, reports said.

The meeting comes a day after Home Minister of India Amit Shah chaired a security review on JK, which was attended by senior officers of the CRPF, BSF, and other agencies in Delhi.

The unified command, who are attending the meeting, is the top security grid in JK, comprising the Army, CAPFs, JK Police, central and state intelligence agencies, and senior bureaucrats of the UT administration.

Officials said the meeting is focused on key security concerns, including counter-militancy operations, infiltration attempts, and the increasing challenges of drug abuse in the union territory.

In JK, officers of law and order, security, and central services like the IAS/IPS are under the direct control of the Lt Governor.
