One of the fiercest rivalries in sports history is that between India and Pakistan in cricket. On Sunday, February 23, both teams will play each other in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

After defeating Bangladesh by six wickets in their first game, Team India enters this crucial match with confidence. However, Pakistan is hoping to recover from their first tournament loss to New Zealand, which ended in a 60-run loss.

As the two teams get ready to play, India will be trying to get over the heartbreaking 180-run loss they suffered to Pakistan in the 2017 Champions Trophy final. India has dominated this rivalry in ODI tournaments since that defeat, winning five straight matches.

Pakistan has always held the advantage in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and has won three of five Champions Trophy head-to-head encounters, despite India’s recent success.

Since their first encounter in 2004, India and Pakistan have faced off five times in the history of the Champions Trophy. The last time they faced each other was in the 2017 final, which Pakistan won by an overwhelming 180 runs. With three victories to India’s two, Pakistan now has the tournament’s head-to-head record.
