Srinagar: Education Minister Sakina Itoo announced on Friday that winter vacations for schools have been extended, with all institutions set to reopen on March 7.

The decision was made in response to the ongoing cold weather conditions in the region. The Jammu and Kashmir government has extended the winter break for all government schools up to the higher secondary level in the Kashmir division and winter zones of the Jammu division.

According to the latest directive, schools will now remain closed until March 6, 2025, and will reopen on March 7, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled March 1.

This extension follows the initial winter vacation schedule, which began on December 6, 2024, for government schools in these regions.
