Kulgam: A violent clash between two groups at Masjid Sideeqi in Razloo Kund on Saturday late evening left at least 10 people injured.
The injured were promptly taken to the hospital for medical treatment, various reports said.
One report quoting police officials said that members of the Deoband Jamaat and Ahle Hadees Jamaat got into a confrontation at the mosque, leading to physical assaults and injuries to at least 10 persons.
“A breach of peace was imminent, and the culprits were not arrested immediately. However, several were later taken into custody,” police source was quoted as saying.
A police official confirmed that all the injured were hospitalised and that 10 individuals have been booked under FIR No. 126/170 BNSS Act. They are currently in custody at Police Station Kund.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
