Srinagar: The State Investigation Agency (SIA), Kashmir, announced on Saturday that it has filed a charge sheet against a Twitter user in the Designated Special Court under the NIA Act in Budgam.

According to a statement, the case involves the dissemination of anti-India, secessionist, and pro-militancy content on social media.

The investigation was launched after authorities received information that a Twitter handle, “Lacerated Kashmir”, was posting content deemed secessionist, anti-India, and supportive of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir. As a result, an FIR (No. 18 of 2022) was registered at the CIK/SIA Kashmir police station.

Following a detailed technical investigation, the SIA identified the man behind the account as Irfan-Ul-Haq from Kawoosa Khalisa in Budgam district. The accused allegedly operated multiple Twitter accounts under pseudonyms, including “Lacerated Kashmir, The Resistance Kashmir, Maimed Kashmir, and Wounded Kashmir”, to promote separatist ideology, support militancy, and criticise the administration. He is also accused of disrespecting the Indian national flag through his posts.

On March 7, 2025, the SIA filed a detailed charge sheet against the accused under IPC Section 153-A, Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and Section 2 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act for judicial review.
