At least 10 people were killed in a military operation conducted by Pakistani security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mardan district recently, a security source told international news agency Xinhua.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source told Xinhua that the operation took place in Babuzai, targeting “terrorist hideouts” at three locations in the Katlang mountain range.
This led to an intense exchange of gunfire, resulting in multiple casualties. The death toll may rise, given the scale of the operation, the report added quoting the source further.
