On Eid, 14,000 police personnel to be deployed on Mumbai roads, say officials

Mumbai: In Mumbai city of Maharashtra, nearly 14,000 police personnel will be deployed on Sunday and Monday for Gudi Padwa and Eid-ul-Fitr, ensuring law and order, according PTI report quoting officials.

This includes seven additional commissioners, 17 deputy commissioners, 50 assistant commissioners, 1,982 police officers, and 11,820 constables.

Additional forces like the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Rapid Action Force (RAF), and home guards will also be stationed at various locations to handle any potential incidents.

The official emphasised the importance of adhering to safety guidelines, urging people to report emergencies by calling 100 or 112 and to avoid touching suspicious items in crowded areas to maintain peace and harmony.
