Jammu: The President of India has appointed Justice Sanjeev Kumar as the acting Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court, with effect from April 10, 2025.
This appointment follows the retirement of Justice Tashi Rabstan, the previous Chief Justice, on April 9, 2025. The appointment has been made under Article 223 of the Constitution of India.
In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Judge of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court, to perform the duties of office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from 10, 04, 2025 consequent upon the retirement of Justice Tashi Rabastan, Chief Justice, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court on 09.04.2025,” GoI Law Ministry said in a notification.
