Following the breakdown of the January ceasefire, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) reported on Friday that nearly four lakh people have been displaced across Gaza.

In a post on X, UNRWA highlighted the dire situation, stating that the current blockage of aid and commercial goods is the longest since the conflict began.

The agency urged for an immediate reinstatement of the ceasefire to halt further humanitarian suffering.

UNRWA also called for the safe release of all hostages in Gaza and unrestricted access for aid.

The Israeli military resumed operations in Gaza on March 18, ending the truce and halting a prisoner exchange agreement. Since October 2023, more than 50,800 Palestinians — mostly women and children — have lost their lives in the Israeli offensive.
