Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has filed a charge sheet against 22 persons, including NC politician Aga Syed Ruhullah and influential Shia cleric Agha Syed Hassan, in a case related to fraudulent land compensation in Budgam.

The accused are alleged to have been involved in tampering with revenue records and fraudulently withdrawing compensation amounts, resulting in a substantial financial loss to the state exchequer, reports said.

The case, registered under FIR No. 18/2009, falls under the Jammu and Kashmir Prevention of Corruption Act Svt. 2006 and Sections 120-B, 467, 468, and 471 of the Ranbir Penal Code. The investigation was triggered by a Joint Surprise Check (JSC), which uncovered manipulation of land records under a government scheme aimed at rehabilitating Dal Lake dwellers.
