Srinagar: In view of the ongoing inclement weather conditions, the Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended classwork in all schools across the Kashmir valley for today, Monday, April 21.

Minister of Education Sakina Itoo announced the decision late Sunday evening, stating that the move was taken to safeguard the well-being of students amid persistent rainfall and adverse forecasts.

“In light of the continuing severe weather conditions and forecasts, it has been decided that classwork in all schools of the valley shall remain suspended for one day (21st April),” the minister said.

She further added, “This decision has been taken as a precautionary step to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.”

The announcement comes as the region witnesses heavy rain and snowfall in several areas, prompting authorities to advise residents, especially students and travellers, to exercise caution.
