Pahalgam attack: Subramanian Swamy slams Modi’s distant condolence, demands Amit Shah’s sacking

New Delhi: In a sharp critique following the deadly attack in Pahalgam that left 26 civilians dead, senior BJP leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response and called for the dismissal of Home Minister Amit Shah.

Reacting to Modi’s condolence message issued from abroad, Swamy said, “What is the use of Prime Minister Modi offering condolences from a foreign land? This perfidy in Kashmir is among the worst we have seen.”

Holding the Home Ministry accountable for the security lapse, Swamy added, “To save his own skin and uphold accountability, Modi must sack the Union Home Minister.”

The attack in Pahalgam, which targeted a group of tourists, has sparked nationwide outrage and renewed debate over security in Jammu and Kashmir. Swamy’s comments mark one of the strongest internal criticisms from within the BJP fold in the aftermath of the incident.
