Srinagar: In the wake of the horrific militant attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 persons, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called for a statewide observance of silence to honour the victims.

All government employees across Jammu and Kashmir have been asked to observe a two-minute silence at 3:30pm today as a mark of respect and solidarity with those who lost their lives in the attack.

“In light of the tragic killing of innocent civilians in Pahalgam, I request all government office employees across J&K to observe two minutes of silence today at 3:30 PM. This is a small gesture to honour the memory of the victims and show our collective grief,” Omar Abdullah said in a statement.

The Pahalgam attack has triggered widespread condemnation and mourning across the region and the country, with political leaders, civil society, and citizens expressing their outrage and sorrow over the loss of lives, many of whom were tourists.
