Man beaten to death for shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ during cricket match

Mangaluru: A man was allegedly beaten to death during a cricket match on the outskirts of Mangaluru after reportedly shouting “Pakistan Zindabad”, prompting swift police action.

The incident took place around 3pm on April 27 near the Bhatra Kallurti temple in Kudupu village.

Police have arrested 15 persons and are searching for at least 10 more.

According to Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal, the case initially began as a probe into an unnatural death after the victim’s body was found near the temple grounds.

A post-mortem conducted the following day revealed that the man had died from multiple blunt force injuries and internal bleeding due to lack of timely medical help.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara termed it a case of mob lynching and assured strict action, although he stated he had not yet received the full report.

The identity of the victim has not yet been officially confirmed.
