US President Donald Trump arrived in Riyadh on Saturday, marking the first leg of his three-day tour of the Middle East, which also includes scheduled stops in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
Greeted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) upon arrival, Trump’s visit is being described by the White House as a “historic return to the Middle East”—his first official overseas tour since beginning his second term.
At the top of Trump’s agenda are efforts to bolster economic ties, with reports suggesting he aims to secure a $1 trillion investment in US industry from the Saudi leadership—an ambitious leap from the earlier $600 billion pledge by MBS.
