Poonch: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, visited Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Saturday to meet families affected by recent cross-border shelling by Pakistan. This marked his second visit to the Union Territory since the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
During his visit, Gandhi met with residents whose homes were damaged and who lost family members in the shelling. He conducted door-to-door visits in the affected areas, including a school, and interacted with students, urging them to stay strong.
Speaking to reporters, Gandhi described the situation as “a very big tragedy” and expressed solidarity with the victims. He stated, “I spoke to the people, tried to understand their problems. They told me that they want to raise a couple of things at the national level, and I will raise them.”
