US President Donald Trump has said that Washington has made “serious progress” in its negotiations with Iran over its nuclear programme, suggesting that there may soon be positive developments. He also hinted at ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions in Gaza through talks with both Israel and Hamas.
Speaking to reporters in Morristown, New Jersey, before heading back to Washington, Trump described recent interactions with Iranian officials as “very good,” expressing hope for a breakthrough.
“We’ve made real progress—serious progress,” he said. “I think we might have some good news on Iran soon.”
When asked about the possibility of another round of talks with Tehran, Trump responded, “Very soon. I can’t predict tomorrow, but the discussions with Iran have been going really well. I’d prefer peace over bombs and casualties. That’s what I truly want.”
Addressing the Gaza conflict, Trump said the US is in contact with both Israeli and Hamas representatives, aiming to resolve the situation quickly.
“We’re trying to see if we can end this as soon as possible,” he added.
