A video showing French President Emmanuel Macron’s wife, Brigitte Macron, gently pushing his face as they got off a plane in Vietnam has gone viral, sparking mixed reactions on social media.
In the short clip, Macron is seen standing at the aircraft door when Brigitte’s hands suddenly reach out and push his face. Macron looks surprised for a moment but quickly smiles and waves to the crowd. As they walk down the stairs, Macron offers his arm to Brigitte, but she holds the railing instead.
Social media was flooded with jokes and comments. Some users made fun of the moment, while others created wild theories. One user wrote, “Is Brigitte Macron a man?” Another joked, “Macron just got publicly slapped by his wife.”
Speaking to the media in Hanoi, Macron laughed off the rumours, saying: “There’s a video showing me teasing my wife, and people are acting like it’s a global crisis. They’re even making up strange stories about it.”
His office first denied the incident but later said it was simply a private and light-hearted moment between the couple. A source close to Macron told French media the two were just having a quick disagreement and nothing serious.
The video surfaced as Macron arrived in Vietnam for the start of his Southeast Asia tour.
