The Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing, issued a statement mourning the Iranian generals killed in recent Israeli strikes on Iran, Al Mayadeen reported.
“With deep respect and pride, we honour the martyrs of our Islamic nation—senior commanders of the Iranian Armed Forces—who fell due to the ongoing Zionist aggression,” the statement read.
It named top military figures such as Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces; Hossein Salami, head of the IRGC; and Gholam Ali Rashid, Commander of the Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters.
The group commended the Iranian commanders for their longstanding and significant support of the Palestinian Resistance, highlighting their contributions over the years, including during the Al Aqsa Flood Operation.
Al-Qassam noted that despite being aware of the heavy price they might pay, the Iranian leaders stood firm in their support until they were martyred by what the group described as the “enemy of the Ummah.”
The statement emphasised that history would remember the commanders’ crucial contributions to the struggle against Israel, describing their efforts as instrumental in bringing the Resistance closer to defeating what it calls an illegitimate regime.
The Brigades also extended condolences to the Iranian people, recognising them as steadfast supporters of the Resistance.
They expressed solidarity with Iran’s leadership and citizens, and prayed for the recovery of those injured.
The statement further praised Iran’s retaliatory strikes against Israel, calling them a powerful response that shook the occupying regime and undermined its perceived invincibility. It stated that rather than breaking the spirit of the Resistance, the Israeli attacks had only strengthened it.
Al-Qassam concluded by expressing hope for ultimate victory—one that would see the liberation of Al Aqsa Mosque and the elimination of what they described as a “cancerous entity” embedded in the Islamic world for decades, asserting that its end is near.
