Ganderbal: Residents of Safapora area of Ganderbal in central Kashmir, along with the family members of a local woman, staged a protest on Monday, alleging she was murdered.
The protesters gathered to demand justice and called for swift police action. “We want a fair and quick investigation and arrest of the accused,” a local protestor can be heard saying in a video viral of social media sites. One such video shows a large gathering of locals, some atop vehicles, shouting slogans and seeking justice to the victim.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Khalil Ahmad Poswal, visited the spot and assured the family and protesters that the matter is being investigated and appropriate action will be taken.
