Jammu: An Agniveer died while two others were injured in a landmine blast in the Krishna Ghati sector of the Poonch district, officials said on Friday.
An official told news agency Kashmir News Observer that the incident happened when a team of the Army was on a routine patrol near their forward post.
He said that while patrolling, the personnel accidently stepped on a landmine, resulting into the death of one personnel and injuries to two others.
Meanwhile, Army’ White Knight Corps paid tribute to the deceased soldier. “All ranks pay solemn tribute to Agniveer Lalit Kumar of 7 JAT Regiment, who made the supreme sacrifice, while on an area domination patrol in general area of Krishna Ghati brigade on 25 July 2025, following a mine blast.
We stand with the bereaved family in this hour of grief,” it said in a post on X. (KNO)
