A Kashmiri student died in a road accident in Ludhiana, Punjab. The accident occurred when the motorcycle, Mudasir Ahmad from Pattan, Baramulla, was riding, along with Zahid Ahmad from Bandipora and Momin Ahmad from Batingu, Sopore, collided with a Swift car, Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) said.
All three were rushed to a local hospital. Mudasir was declared brought dead upon arrival. Zahid and Momin remain in critical condition and are undergoing treatment.
The students were studying at Mata Saraswati College in Ludhiana. The incident has caused deep concern among the Kashmiri student community and their families.
Following an appeal by JKSA, the matter was taken up with Punjab Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, who directed Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain to ensure the swift transportation of Mudasir’s body to his hometown for the last rites. Instructions have also been given to provide the best possible medical care to the injured students.
Authorities are coordinating with local officials in Jammu and Kashmir to support the affected families during this time.
