Madhya Pradesh: A 27-year-old model, Khushboo Ahirwar, was found dead under mysterious circumstances early Monday after her boyfriend allegedly abandoned her at a private hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district and fled the scene.
Doctors at the Bhainsakhedi hospital declared her brought dead and alerted the police, NDTV reported.
Her body has been sent to Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal, for a postmortem examination, which is being conducted under magisterial supervision following the family’s allegations.
Outside the hospital, Khushboo’s mother, Lakshmi Ahirwar, broke down, claiming her daughter had been murdered.
“There are blue marks all over her body. Her face is swollen, and her private parts are bruised. My daughter was brutally beaten to death,” she said.
Her sister echoed the claim, saying, “She was strangled and assaulted. We want justice — the man who killed her must be punished.”
The family alleged that Khushboo had been in a live-in relationship with a man named Qasim, who has been missing since he left her at the hospital.
According to police, the couple was returning from Ujjain to Bhopal when Khushboo’s condition deteriorated. Instead of seeking help, Qasim allegedly fled after realizing she had lost consciousness.
Just three days before her death, Qasim had reportedly called Khushboo’s mother, saying, “I’m Muslim, but your daughter is with me. Don’t worry, I’m taking her to Ujjain.” Later, Khushboo herself called her family to reassure them, saying, “Don’t worry, Qasim is a good guy. I’m with him.” That was the last time they heard from her.
Known by her Instagram handle @DiamondGirl30, Khushboo was a rising local model with thousands of followers. She frequently shared photoshoots and brand collaborations and was considered a promising face in Bhopal’s modelling scene. She had dropped out after her first year of a BA course and had been living in Bhopal for three years, working part-time while pursuing her modelling career. “She always said she wanted to make her name shine,” her mother recalled.
Appealing for justice, Khushboo’s sister urged Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to step in. “This happened in your area. Please do something — my sister deserves justice,” she said.
Police have filed a case and launched a manhunt for Qasim, who remains missing. Investigators said the injuries on Khushboo’s body point to possible assault and sexual violence.
“We are awaiting the postmortem report. All possibilities, including sexual assault and murder, are being examined,” an officer from Parwalia Police Station said.
As the autopsy continues and police intensify their search for Qasim, questions linger over how a young woman with dreams of stardom met such a tragic and violent end.
