BJP's Ravinder Raina and Sunil Sharma visit Nowgam blast victim's family

Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader Ravinder Raina on Sunday said that the entire nation stands with the families who lost their loved ones in the tragic Nowgam blast.

Raina, accompanied by Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, visited the residence of tailor Mohammad Shafi in Nowgam, Srinagar, to offer condolences.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, the BJP National President, and the J&K BJP President have all expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended their sympathies to the bereaved families.

“In this hour of immense hardship and unbearable grief, the nation firmly stands with the families who have lost their dear ones,” Raina said.

The youth from the Valley who lost their precious lives have left the people of Jammu & Kashmir and the entire country in profound pain. “Whoever heard about the explosion at the Nowgam Police Station, in which ten young men sacrificed their lives for the nation. This is a heartbreaking and painful tragedy,” he said.

Raina said the scenes at the victims’ homes were “extremely distressing and difficult to witness,” adding that the entire nation salutes the brave young men who were martyred in the Nowgam Police Station explosion.

Sharma said the explosive material—originally recovered in Faridabad—had been brought to Nowgam Police Station for investigation after an FIR was filed there. “Around 360 kg of the first consignment was under examination with the FSL team, crime team, and local police. Mohammad Shafi, a professional tailor, had also been called to help seal the material when the accident occurred,” he said.

He, along with Ravinder Raina, visited the residence of Mohammad Shafi and met his family members. “We shared their pain and assured them of all possible help,” Sharma added. (KNS)
