Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party president Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari on Friday visited the ailing father of incarcerated MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid (Engineer Rashid) at SMHS Hospital and appealed to the central government to grant him parole.
Apni Party President said Khazir Mohammad Sheikh is battling a critical illness and has been placed on ventilator support.
“His condition is extremely serious, and his family is passing through an incredibly difficult and distressing time,” the Apni Party chief said in a post on X.
He said the party stands in solidarity with the family and prayed to the Almighty to bless the patient with “Shifa-e-Kamila” (complete recovery).
In an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Altaf Bukhari requested that the incarcerated Member of Parliament be granted parole to be with his ailing father and distressed family members.
“Allowing him to be with his family in this time of crisis would be a humane and dignified decision and it will be appreciated by one and all in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
