Poonch: Police on Sunday released the latest details on casualties and missing persons following the flash floods that struck several parts of Poonch district, with rescue and search operations continuing across the affected areas.
According to data shared by Poonch Police, eight people were affected in Murrah. All have been identified. Two bodies have been recovered so far, while efforts are underway to retrieve the remaining six.
In Sangla, four people were affected and all have been identified. Two bodies have been recovered, while search teams are working to retrieve the remaining two.
In Sangalani, one person was affected. The victim has been identified and the body has been recovered.
In Marhote, one person lost her life. The deceased was identified as Iram Kouser, daughter of Abdul Majid. Her body has been recovered.
In Dogrian Buffliaz, one person was reported affected. The victim has not yet been identified, and the body is yet to be recovered.
Separately, at Noona Bandi in Poonch, 28-year-old Nazia Kouser, wife of Mohd Hafiz, died in the incident. Four injured persons were shifted to District Hospital, Poonch, for treatment.
Police said rescue and search operations are continuing in all affected areas with the assistance of the civil administration, disaster response teams and local residents.
