33 pilgrims injured as yatra bus skids off road in Gund Ganderbal

LG Manoj Sinha directs health officials to ensure best possible medical care for injured

Ganderbal: An Amarnath Yatra bus skidded off the road and fell near S-Mode Hariganiwan in Kangan area of Ganderbal district on Tuesday, leaving 33 pilgrims injured.

Officials told GNS that the bus, bearing registration No. AR11D/5655, went off the road at the treacherous S-Mode stretch in Hariganiwan area of Gund, triggering a rescue operation.

A joint rescue operation was launched by Army’s Kilo Force, troops of CRPF 118 Battalion, ITBP personnel, health employees and Civil Police led by SHO Gund. The operation is currently ongoing at the site.

According to officials, all the injured pilgrims were referred from SDH Kangan to SKIMS for advanced treatment.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on X that he spoke with the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and health officials regarding the accident.

He directed the health officials to ensure all necessary assistance and the best possible medical care for the injured devotees, and prayed for their speedy recovery.
