India’s Himanshu Dhillon won silver and Rudrankksh Patil took bronze in the men’s 10m air rifle individual event at the Asian Games on Monday, adding two more shooting medals for the country.
China’s Sheng Lihao claimed gold with a Games record 254.2 points. Dhillon scored 252.4 and Patil won bronze with a score of 230.9, The Statesman said.
An hour later, the personal medals followed as Dhillon, Patil and Parth Mane claimed silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event. PTI reported that India was second with 1890.1 points behind China’s 1899.0.
Former world champion Patil topped India in the individual qualification with 631.8 points while Dhillon was second with 630.0. Both made it to the final.
The results brought India’s shooting medal tally at the Games to five, following two silver medals in the women’s 10m air rifle events on Sunday, PTI reported.
India’s overall medal tally also increased as the Aichi-Nagoya Games moved into the second day.
