Three people were killed and at least 12 others were injured when a Russian strike hit a building in central Dnipro on Monday, according to Ukrainian officials, as rescue crews continued.
Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration head Oleksandr Hanzha said a Russian drone hit an office building in the city centre, causing a fire. He first reported casualties but did not say who they were.
Regional officials later said the death toll had increased to three, with 12 injured. Rescuers evacuated 47 people from the damaged building and were using an aerial ladder to reach people on upper floors, regional authorities said.
The Dnipropetrovsk regional council head Mykola Lukashuk said the strike hit the city centre in the daytime when there were many people.
In other parts of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukrainian officials also reported strikes, including one that hit a logistics company branch in Synelnykove that injured three people, Hanzha said. Russia has not immediately responded to the reported strike.
