Anantnag: Anantnag Police have apprehended a drug peddler from Uttar Pradesh and recovered charas from his possession in the Sangam area of south Kashmir, police said on Thursday.
According to police, the accused, identified as Mohd Javeed, son of Abdul Saeed, a resident of Pauta Kalan in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district, was apprehended by a team from Police Post Sangam.
Charas was recovered during the operation, police said, adding that the action was part of their ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and the circulation of narcotic substances in the district.
Anantnag Police reiterated their commitment to combating drug-related activities and urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.
