Syrian authorities imposed a temporary curfew in the southern city of Sanamayn after three security personnel were killed and several others injured during an operation targeting members of an armed group, state media reported.
The security operation was launched as government forces pursued members of the group in Sanamayn, in Daraa province, according to Syria’s state-run news agency.

Sanamayn, also known as Al-Sanamayn, has previously been the site of clashes involving Syrian government forces and armed groups. The city is in Daraa province, near a major route connecting southern Syria with Damascus.
The latest violence comes as Syria’s new authorities continue efforts to consolidate security control across the country following the fall of former President Bashar Assad in December 2024.
