Indian shooters Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh won gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, giving India its second gold medal of the Games on Friday.
The Indian pair dominated the final and ended with 484.6 points to pip South Korea’s Suhyeon Hong and Gaeun Choo, who took silver with 478.0. Iran took bronze with 415.8.
The win also gave India their first shooting gold medal of the 2026 Asian Games. Kamaljeet and Suruchi, who had topped the qualification with 587 points, took their form to the medal round.
The pair were drafted in at the last minute after Kamaljeet replaced Kedarling Balakrishna Uchaganve as Suruchi’s mixed-team partner. Both marksmen had failed to reach the podium in their individual events.
Their total of 484.6 was also a new Asian Games record.
