Visits Kulgam, offers condolences to slain cops families

 

Srinagar: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday appealed to the youth of  valley to ‘help’ the government so that they can save the state from getting destroyed.

The CM, who was in Kulgam while on a visit to the families of five policemen killed in an attack by five suspected militants said, “I appeal to the youth that this land belongs to you, work for its progress and prosperity. And help us to save it from getting destroyed.”

Mehbooba also pointed out that the killed personnel were poor men who were protecting the money of the poor people. She added that to kill them is the ‘biggest misfortune of this nation’.

“Seven poor men who had left their homes to earn their livelihood and protect money of people deposited in the banks. But to kill them with such injustice is the biggest misfortune for this nation,” said Mehbooba.

The CM further added, “What are we achieving from this destruction, looting and murders? We are destroying the assets of the state. Students are not being allowed to go to schools. Banks where poor people deposit their money are being looted.”
On Tuesday, the top cop of the state Shesh Paul Vaid had also paid a visit to the slain policemen’s families and also the private security guards.
