Two feared dead as truck skids off the Jammu-Kashmir highway 

Srinagar: At 5 a.m today a vehicle bearing number JK03B 4747 travelling from Jammu to Srinagar plunged into the Chenab river in the Ramban district of the state.

The truck laden with fruits was on its way to Srinagar when it skidded off the road due to the slippery roads following the rains.

The two persons are yet not traceable. However, police search parties have launched a rescue operation.

Officials claimed that the truck skidded off the road due to bad weather conditions.

Speaking to the FreePressKashmir, the officials at MeT said, “The rains are likely to continue till noon today. However, isolated showers might be witnessed on higher reaches of the valley tomorrow.”

The Jammu Kashmir highway remains open to vehicles.
