Home Minister Singh believes Holy Ramzan will help ‘bring peace in Kashmir’

Srinagar: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that the holy Ramzan would “help” in bringing peace and happiness to Kashmir valley.

In a video message here on Saturday, Singh said: “I extend my heartiest greetings to the people of Kashmir valley. And I pray for the return of peace and tranquility in Kashmir.”

“I have a firm belief that the holy month of Ramzan would help in bringing peace, brotherhood and happiness to Kashmir and the valley would see a light of new dawn,” Singh said in his video message.

Kashmir Valley is witnessing massive anti-militant operations by the Indian armed forces for last some months.

The military operations are held almost every other day. However, the civilian population has been putting resistance many a times and during gunfights, the people try to help the militants. Many civilians were killed in the forces action.

“Once again I extend my Eid Wishes to the people of Kashmir,” he added.

On Saturday, Kakpora area of Pulwama district is observing a complete shutdown against killing of three Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants. The trio LeT militants died fighting the forces on Thursday in New Colony area in Kakpora.

One civilian was killed during protests when people were assembling to take part in funerals of the slain militants.
