LeT calls attack on Amarnath Yatris ‘trademark of Indian forces’, Police blames militant outfit

Srinagar: Kashmir Police chief Munir Khan on Tuesday said that militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba is responsible for the attack on Amarnath Yatris in which 7 people were killed and 19 injured.

However the militant outfit, in a statement to Kashmir based news agency GNS called the attack on pilgrims a ‘highly reprehensible act’.

LeT spokesman Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement said, “The attack on Amarnath pilgrims is a highly reprehensible act. Islam does not allow violence against any faith. We strongly condemn such acts,” he said.

The statement added, “This barbarity and atrocity is the trademark of Indian forces. India wants to sabotage the freedom struggle of Kashmiris, therefore it uses such attacks to full fill its nefarious agenda.”

The statement further pointed out, “At times, India uses Hindus of Uttar Pradesh to hide its terror face, and when it fails, they use false flag attacks against Amarnath Yatris,” he claimed.

The police had arrested a close aide of slain Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Bashir Lashkari on Monday.

Addressing a press conference at Police Control Room in Batmaloo, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Muneer Ahmad Khan, had said that they have busted a module of Lashkar-e-Toiba by arresting Sandeep Kumar, alias ‘Adil’, a Hindu aide of Bashir Lashkari, a resident of the Muzaffarnagar area of Uttar Pradesh.

Ghaznavi in his statement “Ajit Doval is frustrated due to his failed policies therefore he has turned to such dastardly acts. India wants to pave way for its anti-Kashmir policies by using such acts but, it is bound to fail like in past. May Allah be our protector and guide.”
