Srinagar: Bollywood actress Aalia Bhatt who is currently in the valley to shoot for director Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming flick Raazi, on Sunday morning left for tourist destination Pahalgam to complete the shoot.
Khawar Jamsheed (KJ) Productions, which has organized the film shoot in the valley told Free Press Kashmir that the actress is now shooting in Pahalgam.
“The crew has reached their destination and they have resumed their shooting from the morning,” said Khawar Jamsheed, the line producer of the film.
“There was some 20-25 percent shoot of the film in Kashmir, and it will be completed in next three days,” Jamsheed said adding that the crew will be “shooting at the higher reaches of Pahalgam”.
When asked about the shooting of the film in the city, he said, “The city schedule of the film is almost over. But there could be some changes in the plan, if the director of the film felt that there is a need to take some extra shots in Srinagar,”
Alia along with co-actor Vicky Kaushal and other crew members arrived in the valley on 17th of this month and shot at many location that include Shivpora in Srinagar and Doodpathri in Budgam district.
The ten day shoot will be completed on 26th of this month and we will be flying back to Mumbai on 27th September, said a crew member.
On the early morning of 17th September, the 24 year-old actress uploaded a photograph on her social media’s Instagram account where she is seen accompanied by her bestie, Akanksha Ranjan Kapoor sitting in the lawns of a Srinagar hotel.
Besides her best friend Akanksha, her mother Soni Razdan has also joined her to take care of her daughter.
Alia has been visiting the picturesque place frequently. “She first visited the place in year 2012 for the shooting of film Student of the Year. In 2013, she was in Pahalgam for the shoot of Highway and now she is here for the shoot of Raazi,” informed a member of KJ productions.
Based on the book- Calling Sehmat, Raazi is an adaptation of the life of a Kashmiri girl who is married to an army officer. The film, set during the 1971 Indo-Pak war is produced by Dharma Productions and Junglee Pictures.
Director Meghna Gulzar is the daughter of a famous lyricist Gulzar and actress Rakhee Gulzar. In the past, she has directed films like Filhaal, Just Married, Dus Kahaniyaan and Talvar.
Last month, the producer of the film Priti Shahani in an interview to a news agency had said that she is not expecting any trouble during her Kashmir schedule.
“I don’t expect any trouble. The team has been over there and they have had a detailed location recce,” she had said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Security Kashmir, Maqsood Ul Zaman said that the shooting of the film is going very smoothly without any disruption.
“We have deployed our security guards with the crew who are taking care of them very well,” the SSP said.
