A Hindu Yuva Vahini leader on Sunday alleged it is the Muslim community’s conspiracy to increase their population to make India an Islamic nation by 2027, remarks that are likely to stoke a controversy.
“If the Muslim population continued to grow at the same pace, India will become an Islamic country by 2027. It’s a conspiracy of the Muslim community. They want to have total control over India,” Nagendra Pratap Tomar, the western Uttar Pradesh head of the outfit, said at workers’ conference.
“Muslims bear children not because they want to have them, but because they want to occupy the whole country,” he alleged.
The right-wing organisation was founded by Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath in 2002, he is also the chief patron of the outfit. The group is open about their anti Muslim sentiments.
Yogi Adityanath, and his men have openly advocated hate against Muslims. In once instance that hit the news, Adityanath’s men have asked their supporters to rape dead Muslim women by pulling them out of their graves.
Uttar Pradesh, where Adityanath is Chief Minister now, saw targeted attacks on Muslims, especially women in September 2013, which resulted in at least 62 deaths and left more than 50,000 displaced.
Just a couple of days ago, the Hindu Yuva Vahini also made controversial remarks about the Taj Mahal. Members of a right wing organisation-Hindu Yuva Vahini were forcibly taken away for attempting to recite ‘Shiv Chalisaa’ (Hymn to Lord Shiva) inside Taj premises.
The history wing of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-Akhil Bhartiya Itihaas Sankalan Samiti has demanded that Friday prayers at Taj Mahal should be banned.
