Hope Majid won’t be harassed, tweets Omar Abdullah

Srinagar: Omar Abdullah, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir tweeted on Friday that if the surrender reports of footballer turned militant Majid Khan are true, he won’t be harassed and will be allowed to lead a normal  life.

“If that’s true then it’s a very good development. Hope he can go back to leading a normal life & not be harassed,” Abdullah tweeted.

Earlier Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had also tweeted that mother’s love had prevailed.

“A mother’s love prevailed. Her impassioned appeal helped in getting Majid, an aspiring footballer, back home. Every time a youngster resorts to violence, it is his family which suffers the most.”
Khan, according to sources walked into an army camp in Anantnag after impassioned appeals from his parents to shun militancy.

His father, reacting to the reports of his surrender had told media persons in his residence that he got “new lease of life” after hearing that his son will return home. He had suffered a mild heart attack after his son had joined militancy.
