Observe complete shutdown on Monday against the ‘reign of terror’, reiterates JRL

Srinagar: The Joint Resistance Leadership on Sunday reiterated their call for a complete shutdown tomorrow (Monday) in solidarity with thousands of political prisoners languishing in different jails in and outside the state.

In wake of the call, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was put house arrest on Sunday.

“The gruesome atrocities committed by Indian forces across North and South Kashmir are crossing its limits. The condition of thousands of innocents languishing in jails and police stations is also worsening day by day, ” said the JRL statement.

“Kashmiris are always protesting against these human rights violations and strike call for Monday, 27 November 2017 is also intended for highlighting these oppressive measures,” the statement highlighted.

While reiterating the call of strike on 27 November 2017, JRL said that Indian occupational forces have unleashed a reign of terror across whole valley especially South and North of Kashmir, where crackdowns, vandalizing properties, beating, torturing common people, arrests and other oppressive measures have became an order of the day.

“Similarly NIA and ED terrorism is also going on through which Indians intend to defeat our resistance,” the statement added.

The Resistance leaders said that likewise thousands of Kashmiris have been put into jails and torture centers where these people are terrorized and intimidated endlessly.

They added that from Tihar jail to the jails of Jammu Kashmir, Kashmiri leaders and other people are being put to worst hardships.

“Kashmiris will observe a complete shutdown on Monday against growing state-terrorism,”  JRL said.
