No compromise over Babri Masjid, says Muslim Personal Law Board

Hyderabad: All India Muslim Personal Law Board on Saturday asserted that there would be no compromise on Babri Masjid.

The assertion comes after one of its members  Maulana Salman Nadvi had reportedly supported the construction of a Ram Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.

The board after an executive meeting said that a piece of land once dedicated to a mosque cannot be sold, gifted or alienated.

“If once dedicated, it vests in Allah,” it said in a statement read out by executive member and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

“All the attempts to negotiate the settlements in past have been infructuous and there is no proposal offering settlement without sacrificing the basic tent has ever been put before the board,” it added.

The Board reiterated its resolutions passed in 1990 and 1993. The announcement came after over four-hour long meeting of the executive on the first day of the three-day plenary. Salman Nadvi also attended the meeting presided over by the Board president Maulana Rabey Hasani Nadvi.
