Srinagar: Protests erupted between students and armed forces on Thursday at the Amarsingh College, University of Kashmir and the Degree college at Bemina.
At Bemina, as soon as classes resumed after five days, students of various as soon as classes resumed after five days, students of various departments gathered and started to take out a protest rally. However, the deployed forces did not allow them to move ahead ensuing in heavy clashes.
At the Amar Singh Collage, a crowd of around 80 students had gathered around the college. The college authorities after five days of closure, were not letting people in without enquiring about them.
At around 11 in the morning, some bikers stood outside the college premises and soon it turned into a huge crowd of protesters raising anti India and pro Zakir moosa slogans.
The police has arrived but is not able to reach the protesters as they have blocked the road.
Meanwhile, protests also rocked the University of Kashmir against the civilian and militant killings in Shopian. The protesting students raised pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans.
Protests were going on as this report was being filed.
